The Dotland Estate Limited, has stormed Nnewi as Nnewi Community flagged off its 2025 Afia-Olu festival amidst jubilation.

This year’s Afia-Olu Nnewi festival witnessed so many colorful events like wrestling Competition, cooking competition, cultural displays, empowerment of petty traders and many more.
The event was well attended by illustrious sons and daughters of Nnewi both home and in diaspora.
While addressing some journalists during the event, held on Wednesday, 27 August, 2025 at the Nkwo Triangle Nnewi, the Chief Executive Officer( CEO) of Dotland Estate Ltd, Barr. Ugochukwu Francis described New Yam festival as a festival celebrated in all Igbo communities.
He said it is an opportunity for people to stay together, adding that it serves as a period of homecoming for the people in diaspora to reunite with those at home.
Afia-Olu Nnewi, according to Dotland CEO is a special period, the people of Nnewi gather to receive blessings from God Almighty and from the Igwe, who performs the ceremonial rituals.
He commended Igwe Nnewi, and the entire people of Nnewi that made this year’s Afia-Olu Nnewi flag off a memorable one.
He disclosed that the day, they visited the Igwe, he warmly welcomed them and blessed them.
“I was so happy to be received by the longest serving Monarch in Nigeria, His Royal Highness Igwe K.O.N Orizu lll. Igwe Nnewi is indeed a blessing to the land” he added.
He charged custodians of culture and parents to ensure they propagate their culture and their children come to know about it.
