Anambra North senatorial zone has thrown their full backing to the reelection of Gov Charles Soludo.
This indication came to the fore during a political solidarity grand rally which held at Otuocha Township Stadium, Aguleri, in honour of the incumbent governor.
The rally was spearheaded by the Anambra North Stakeholders Forum, a coalition of current and former elected officials, political appointees, and prominent stakeholders.
The rally, themed “Sustaining the Solution Legacy: A Path to Disruptive Development in Anambra State,” celebrated Gov Soludo’s achievements and reaffirmed commitment to his vision of a livable and prosperous Anambra.
In a communique he presented at the occasion, Hon Somto Udeze, Speaker, Anambra State House of Assembly said that the people of zone have decided to vote for Gov Soludo on November 8.
He said that they have reviewed the incumbent governor’s performance and have unanimously passed a vote of confidence and continuity on the incumbent governor.
Rt Hon Udeze said that Gov Soludo actually earned the trust of the people of the zone through his pragmatic and unprecedented landmark projects.
Gov Soludo in his speech expressed heartfelt appreciation to the people of Anambra North for their steadfast support.
“Today is a powerful demonstration of our collective resolve to move our state forward, I’m deeply moved that the North Senatorial Zone has taken the lead, even before we’ve set up a campaign council, because our focus remains on governance. When the time comes, we’ll campaign with the energy of underdogs, because we will never take the support of Ndị Anambra for granted,” he said.
He recalled that on October 17, 2020, the Traditional Rulers of Anambra North endorsed him for the position noting that upon his assumption of office, the development drive of his administration began right from the zone.
Gov Soludo also emphasized the importance of zoning in promoting equity, stating, “We’ve institutionalized zoning to ensure every zone gets its turn. Anambra is one state, one people, one party. Anambra is APGA land.”
The major highlight of the event was the conferment of the traditional title “Oluatuegwu” (One Who Is Not Afraid of Work) on Gov Soludo by the Traditional Rulers of Anambra North senatorial district.
