Three staff of Obasanjo Holding Limited (OHL), abducted on Wednesday evening along Kobape highway, have regained their freedom almost 72 hours after the abduction.
This was confirmed to the Saturday Tribune by the State’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Friday night.
The staffers were kidnapped at gunpoint at Seseri village while returning from an official trip and were taken into a bush. They were said to have been freed without payment of ransom.
Oyeyemi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, hinted that the victims were released following the pressures mounted on their abductors.
The PPRO said the combined effort of the anti-kidnapping and SWAT operatives in combing the bush in the area, paved the way for their release without hurt.
“Yes, we mounted a lot of pressure on the kidnappers. Since yesterday, (Thursday) our Anti-kidnapping and SWAT operatives have been in the bush searching for them.
“They were able to trace them to the bush behind Day Waterman College. They have been there since yesterday.
“This evening (Friday), they released them unhurt without any ransom.”
When asked whether there was any arrest, the PPRO said, “Not yet. We are very sure that we will make arrest.”
