It was a joyous moment for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family in Idemili North and Idemili South Local Government Areas of Anambra State as Hon Obinna Chidoka member representing the two council areas in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, splashed different gift items on them.
The legislator gave out four luxury cars, five shuttle buses, ten tricycles, SUMEC power generating sets, complete tailoring machines bags of rice and cash to the PDP faithful at Thomas Chidoka Center in Obosi, Idemili North Local Goverment Area.
In his welcome address, Chief Ikechukwu Okosa (Ijele Uke) described the lawmaker as a very hard-working representative who has done his constituents proud.
He said emphatically that Hon Chidoka has fulfilled his campaign promises to his constituents across the two council areas.
“The signature projects of Hon Chidoka is in every community in Idemili North and Idemili South LGA, he is not discriminative in his empowerment programs. He carries everyone along in the scheme of things and that is the hallmark of a gentleman.” Chief Okosa pointed out.
Hon Chidoka in his own speech thanked the PDP faithful in his constituency and notified them of happenings at the national level in which Prof Iyocha Ayu has emerged as the National Working Committee chairman of the party.
He noted that the leadership of PDP in Anambra State remains the same.
The legislator recalled how the PDP faithful resisted the attempt to deny him of his mandate during the 2019 general elections before he eventually reclaimed his stolen mandate at election petitions tribunal.
Hon Chidoka said that the gift items were meant to appreciate the persons who made PDP thick in his constituency even as he pointed out that the successes of the party in future elections depend on the individuals being appreciated.
Chidoka used the opportunity to give account of his stewardship in the House of Representatives to the the stakeholders from 2019 till date.
He said as a matter of fact that the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) controlled government has abandoned many roads in his constituency which according to him necessitated his intervention on most of the abandoned roads.
The roads according to him are very important to his constituents because they are primarily businessmen and traders who are always on the road in the course of doing their legitimate ventures.
The federal law maker also used the occasion to acknowledge and appreciate the windows of two persons who paid the supreme sacrifice during his election in 2019.
He re-echoed his earlier pledge that the individuals responsible for the death of the two gentlemen will not go scot-free.
A PDP stakeholder, Mr Sampson Anezu commended the lawmaker for appreciating the agents and persons who worked for him in 2019, he however reminded the beneficiaries that the reward for hard work is more work.
