Ahead the 2023 House of Representatives election, women in Ihiala federal constituency have insisted that the election would be based on anticidents and not campaign promises.
The women in their meeting which held last weekend noted that Ihiala federal constituency has not fared well like her contemporaries like Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Local Goverment Area as well as Idemili North and Idemili South council areas amongst others.
A woman leader in the area, Mrs Ekpere Ejezie from Uzoakwa Ihiala noted that the lawmaker representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo Local Goverment Areas Hon Chris Azubogu did so well for his people to the extent that his constituents started calling him Mr Project.
Mrs Ejezie pointed out that the samething cannot be said about Ihiala federal constituency which has largely been neglected by duty bearers.
She insisted that the women are out to ensure that Ihiala federal constituency is represented by a very strong personality with a strong voice in the House of Representatives come 2023.
Mrs Ejezie noted that Ihiala women have done a critical examination of the persons indicating interest in the lower chamber of the National Assembly’s job and can say with all sense of responsibility that they stand with Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam.
The woman leader stated that the legal luminary House of Representatives aspirant has been using his private resources to better the lots of Ihiala students through his annual scholarship program.
She also noted that the UK trained lawyer has been handling cases that bothers on infringement on human rights without collecting any form of fee from his people.
“The House of Representatives aspirant, Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam has not come to see us as a group but his fame has gone before him, people are excited about his aspiration because of the believe that he would be a round peg in a round hole. If he has been doing so much with his private resources, it is obvious that Ihiala federal constituency and constituents would be in for a good time if he makes it to the National Assembly.” She noted.
Mrs Ejezie said that she was aware that Barr Akachukwu has promised to introduce a CLEAN revolution in Ihiala federal constituency if makes it to the House of Representatives which she noted is a welcomed development.
Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam, a UK trained legal luminary last month made public his House of Reps aspiration.
