Ahead the 2023 general elections, a leading House of Representatives aspirant for Ihiala federal constituency, Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam has urged the youths and everyone who is of voting age to go get their voters card.
Barr Maduakolam noted that the only way to usher in the positive change so desired in the country in general and their immediate constituency is to ensure that they cast their votes for a person of their choice in the general elections.
The House of Representatives aspirant, a legal luminary, pointed out that he has explained times and times again that burning of police stations and public institutions won’t bring change noting that it is PVC that gives the voice to bring the desired and needed change.
“We can’t afford to continue to play a second fiddle or playing oastrich in a matter like election which directly affect our wellbeing as a people. The fight for a better society must be with getting our PVC’s.” He noted.
As part of his contribution to ensure that the youths in particular and his constituents in general shun vote buying in the next election, Barr Maduakolam stressed the need for early grassroot engagement of the people.
“Money isn’t empowerment, if one has no way of ensuring a multiplier effect on that money. I believe in practical and conventional skills acquisition and development. As a young person all I have always wanted is access and platform. I will make it abundant once given the opportunity. We will surely replicate that feat once the opportunity comes.
“We mustn’t wait for the state or federal government to establish a creative economy in Ihiala federal constituency where we will establish business incubation centre to grow cottage industries, I will give a responsible and responsive leadership as a member of the lower chamber of the National Assembly in our CLEAN Ihiala project.
“We will ensure that access are made available to the youths to pursue their educational dreams, this would be backed up with quality and functional assurance scheme to bridge the gap between private schools and public schools. We will ensure that revolving loans are made available to youths who want to go into agriculture, we will not stop at giving out loans, we will provide the needed mentorship to naissance infrastructure where we will ensure non appropriable facilities are in place, youths will be the central focus of our engagement.” Barr Maduakolam explained.
The House of Reps hopeful said that he has worked out a template for initiating four development centers in the four zones in ihiala Local Goverment Area noting that the centres will serve as his constituency offices and will be coordinating activities in the zone.
