Nnewi businessman empowers widow with four bedroom self -contain bungalow

An Nnewi businessman, Chief Leo Okafor (Igodo Na Nnewi), Chairman, Chief Executive Officer of Keystone Motors Ltd, has empowered a widow, Madam Ebele Osakwe (Nee Osuigwe), with a four-bedroom self-contain bungalow.

The tastefully furnished fenced apartment was dedicated by Rev John Okwelogu of St Christopher’s Anglican Church Umuezena Umudim-Nnewi.

The priest, in his short charge commended Chief Leo Okafor for building for the widow, noting that the gesture of empowering the less privileged is dear to the heart of God.

Rev Okwelogu urged other affluent persons in the society to borrow a leaf from Chief Igodo, who he said has lent to God by building for a widow and must reap the blessing that generally follows such a sacrificial giving.

Chief Okafor said that he ordinarily would not want the house’s dedication to be made a media affair but that he was pressured into allowing press coverage to encourage others to invest in the poor persons in the society.

Chief Igodo said, “Madam Ebele Osakwe lost her only son last year, and as it is usually the case, many people came around to pay her condolences, and that was that. “But while I was there, I had this irresistible urge to help her build her house at least to encourage her that all is not lost after the death of her only son,” Igodo said.

“Interestingly, when this urge to build for her was impressed on me, I was also in a tight corner financially, but I was determined, and today, all glory to God, the building has become a reality.

“One thing unique I discovered is that the moment I discussed my intention with the widow, she immediately developed a reason to stay alive. Her skin began to glow again, and that really made me happy.” Igodo recounted.

Chief Igodo thanked all the persons who came around to be with him and the beneficiary widow during the dedication of the apartment.

All the eminent personalities who graced the occasion were full of praises for the Chairman, CEO Keystone Motors Ltd who they said in unison has milk of human kindness flowing in his vein.

Madam Ebele Osakwe who could not hide her excitement said that God has replaced her dead son with Chief Igodo.

The elated widow said that her prayers will always be with her benefactor who has given her a new lease of life.

“Telling you that I am happy is an understatement, I am elated, we couldn’t build a house even when my son who was alive and doing well but today I have so many rooms to myself, I am proud owner of a magnificent fenced building. The good Lord has done me well through Chief Okafor. I will eternally be grateful to him. He is a good man.

The guests were treated to lavish entertainment after the dedication service.

A Lagos based Chartered Accountant, Chief Ike Okoli, a legal luminary, Barr Oseloka Osuigwe, Mr Obiora Osuigwe, Hon Azuka Okeke and many other dignitaries took out time to grace the dedication.
