The House of Representatives hopeful for Ihiala federal constituency, Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam has thrown his weight behind the actualization of Igbo presidency.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives aspirant stated this during an interaction with media practioneers in Nnewi, Anambra State.
He pointed out that it is only right for all lovers of fairness and justice in the country irrespective of their tribal and political affiliations to support the aspiration to have a South East geo-political zone produce the next Nigerian president.
Barr Maduakolam the CLEAN Ihiala exponent said with emphasis that the issue around marginalization of Ndigbo would have been addressed if an Igboman becomes the nation’s president in 2023.
“The quest for Igbo Presidency is legitimate and since there are eminently qualified Nigerians from all its parts, supporting an Igbo candidate will surely deepen democracy and help calm agitating nerves.” Barr Maduakolam insisted.
The PDP House of Reps leading aspirant also hinted that Bishop Kukah was right to remark that the greatest flaw of All Progressives Congress (APC) controlled federal government is the inability to manage Nigeria’s diversity maturely.
“Whether it is the Biafran agitation in the South East or the Oduduwa agitation in South West or even the insurgency in the North, the cardinal question is how best to assure Nigerians that we have a country where love and unity abound.” He asserted.
