The Special Adviser to Anambra state governor on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu has applauded the people of the state for their massive response towards getting their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).
The SA to Prof Charles Soludo noted that the positive response of Ndi-Anambra toward getting their PVCs is a manifestation of political maturity.
He said that with the development, it would be difficult for unscrupulous politicians to manipulate the process for their aggrandizement.
The development according to him is a good omen for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidates for different political offices in the 2023 general elections who are expected to cash in on the massive votes.
“APGA is more than a political party, it is a movement of the people, with the large number of people seeking to get their PVCs, then one can say with all sense of responsibility that the movement of the people which APGA symbolizes has come to stay.” He noted.
Dr Obiogbolu however pointed out that there is still more grounds to cover which he noted has become imperative for the people fully take ownership of the process and their destiny.
The SA to Prof Soludo on Political Matters acknowledged the fact that many people who turned out to get their PVCs are being frustrated by the officials of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He revealed that his office had engaged the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of INEC in Anambra State for the purpose of smoothening the process to make it easier for people to get their PVCs.
Dr Obiogbolu said that INEC will be disenfranchising a whole lot of people especially APGA faithful who are willing to perform their civic responsibilities.
