HoR Election: Ihiala youths reject imposition, resolved for home based lawyer

By I. Ejiofor

Ahead the 2023 House of Representatives election, youths of Ihiala federal constituency in Anambra State have said never again to any form of imposition.

A spokesperson for the youths, Mazi Joel Ikechukwu in an interaction with journalists in Okija said that the youths are prepared and resolute now than ever to take their destiny into their own hands.

Mazi Ikechukwu pointed out that experience has taught them bitter lessons of how imposed candidates normally become irresponsible and lords unto themselves immediately after manipulation of the election process to their advantage.

“We are not going to allow any godfather with overbloated ego and over estimation of himself to impose any candidate on us in the February 2023 general elections, especially the House of Representatives election.

“We have seen what other constituents in other towns and council areas are enjoying from their federal lawmakers who are busy attracting democratic dividends to them unlike here in Ihiala where we only see our representatives before and during elections only for them to disappear after the elections.” He noted.

Mazi Ikechukwu pointed out in the current political dispensation, the progressive youths have all decided to come out fully to give their mandate to one of their own who has been with them through thick and thin.

“We have decided to give our mandate to the candidate for the Young Progressives Party (YPP) Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam who has always been supportive of youths, women and even men in Ihiala Local Government Area with his personal resources, we trust him because he has proven to be no fluke.

“The UK trained lawyer based in Azia has come up with a clear cut legislative agenda he has which he encapsulates in his model CLEAN Ihiala project. We have individually and collectively bought into the project and no agent of backwardness calling himself a godfather can stop the youths. I don’t know about other places but I assure you that election must count in Ihiala this time around.” He asserted.

As a way of actualizing their aspiration, Mazi Ikechukwu said that the good people of Ihiala federal constituency have been fully mobilized to go and get their PVCs noting that Barr Mmaduakolam has been so very helpful in that regard.
