The Anambra State Association (ASA) USA has endorsed candidature of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) standard bearer for Anambra Central senatorial district, Dr Anthony Chinedu Umeadi.
Dr Umeadi got the endorsement during the 2022 Annual Convention of the group which held at Irvin Texas, USA.
The high light of the annual convention was the gala dinner which was chaired by the YPP candidate for Anambra Central Senatorial District.
Dr Umeadi while speaking at the occasion reminded members of the association who they were as Anambrarians in Diaspora, and the important role they could play in the development of Anambra State.
The YPP senatorial candidate however encouraged them to get more involved in charity works in their various communities in Anambra state and to also participate in the Anambra elections to ensure that the right candidates are elected into public offices in the 2023 general elections.
He used the occasion to inform the group of his intention to represent the good people of Anambra Central at the 10th Senate.
Dr Umeadi applauded the association for bringing Anambrarians in the USA together and thanked them for the charity works they were carrying out in Anambra State.
The YPP candidate made a cash donations to the association towards their next medical and education outreach in Anambra State.
The President ASA USA Dallas/Fort Worth chapter Chief Ray Okoye in his speech thanked all the members and dignitaries that attended the event.
He thanked Dr Umeadi specially for accepting to chair the event and assured him of the association’s support towards his senatorial bid in the upcoming general election.
The ASA USA National Convention Chairman Dr Vincent Izuegbu in his speech also thanked the sponsors of the event Flutterwave and also thanked Dr Umeadi for making out time to attend the occasion and for his generous donation towards their planned medical and education outreach in Anambra state.
Other speakers at the event included Prof NT. Izuchi, the vice chairman of the occasion, High Chief (Dr) Napoleon Onyechi (Oba Odezuligbo), Dr Clement Nduka, High Chief (Dr) Mrs Chinwe Nduka (Anyafulu ugo na Nri), Dr Chukwuka (Agunaechemba Anaocha) and several other distinguished guests who gave short speeches before making their donations towards the association’s planned medical and education mission in Anambra State.
Other activities during the gala dinner were traditional dance by the association’s women, exhibition of the association’s new masquerade, and trumpet exhibition by Chief Ray Okoye.
