The member representing Nnewi Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Engr Chris Azubogu, has called on the people of the Anambra South Senatorial zone to pay close attention to the quality of people they send to the National Assembly, particularly the upper echelon, known as the Senate.
Hon Azubogu, often dubbed ‘Mr. Project’ cautioned that sending people without the proper credentials, which he characterized as possessing the correct skill set, temperament, discipline, and ethical inclination, will cost the people of Anambra South Senatorial zone out of their potential benefits.
Azubogu, the APGA candidate for the Senate, laments that the Upper Chamber has swallowed the incumbent Senator for the zone and, thus, could not deliver for the people of the senatorial zone.
“Being a Senator is a serious job that requires the person to bend down and put in the hard work required to deliver the public goods for the benefit of his or her constituency,” Azubogu said. “it is not a place where one aspires to exhibit showmanship, and generally, being cantankerous towards everyone.”
Azubogu, acknowledges that he has become a role model when it comes to quality representation and the benchmark used to measure effective legislators from other constituencies, who, for the most part, seek his counsel. “One of the reasons that I have achieved so much is because I work closely with members of my party, including across the aisle, with legislators from other parties and geopolitical zones,” Azubogu said.
