HIGH RATE OF UNEMPLOYMENT IN IHIALA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY WORRIES YPP CANDIDATE

From Ifeoma Ejiofor

The Young Progressives Party (YPP) candidate for Ihiala federal constituency, Barr Johnmary Akachukwu Maduakolam, has expressed worry over the large number of unemployed youths in his area.

Speaking with a cross-section of youths from different communities that constitute the constituency, Hon. Maduakolam called for collaborative efforts to address the situation.

The frontline candidate maintained that the number of idle youths in the Ihiala Local Government Area is appalling, noting that the issue should concern all and sundry, especially the affluent.

“I discovered this a long time ago and deployed the JAMIE initiative to address some issues confronting the youths and students. We did that with personal resources.”

Speaking further, the Azia-born politician noted that he developed a comprehensive package that would address the issue of youth unemployment and other issues in the CLEAN Ihiala project, adding that when he is elected, he will face the challenge squarely.

“We are passionate about the youths because an idle hand will always remain the devil’s workshop, it is only skills acquisition programs that can minimize the level of joblessness among the youths which of course has a direct link with the level of insecurity in this zone.” The UK-trained lawyer explained.

He expressed his willingness and determination to carry the youths along if he becomes the eyes and voice of the Ihiala federal constituency in the National Assembly.

Responding, the leader of the youths, Mr Ikechukwu Chukwuemeka, appreciated the Anambra-based legal luminary for his passion for the betterment of the youths, noting that they have resolved to support and vote for the YPP House of Representatives candidate because of the love he has demonstrated to them over the years.
