The President of the Federal of Nigeria conferred on Dr. Joseph Ugboaja, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH), a National Honours Award of Order of the Niger (OON).
The award is significant for what it represents. It is, without a doubt, another milestone recorded in the meteorite rise of Dr. Ugboaja’s (Ochinata, Ifesinafaeme) professional life.
Ugboaja has marked his professional dexterity with strings of accomplishments few people could match. A few days ago, Nnewi and Anambra State were agog with excitement as the Presidency commissioned multiple projects at the NAUTH’s permanent site at Akamili- Umudim, Nnewi.
What Dr. Ugboaja and his team accomplished in the space of two years at the permanent site was unprecedented. While at that, he ensured a conducive working environment for the hospital staff by providing them with the necessary tools to facilitate efficient and effective patient care. He also addressed the staff welfare and other ancillary needs to help keep everyone in great spirits.
Various individuals and groups, not least the Committee of Friends Nnewi, have all expressed happiness for the deserved recognition of Dr. Ugboaja OON by the Presidency.
A saying goes thus: “Who the cap fits, let him wear it.”
