The President of the Nnewi branch of the Imo General Assembly(IGA), Hon Chinedu Igwe, on Sunday, said nothing good could come out of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Hon Igwe, during an interactive session with journalists, said, as a matter of fact, that the new president cannot be trusted because of the manner of emergence.
“President Tinubu entered the house through the window, and whoever does that is a thief; all his activities as the president are illegal. It will be pretty difficult for him to sit down and concentrate on the job at hand.
“Personally, I don’t expect BAT to perform wonders, he is not the messiah Nigerians are waiting for because he belongs to the old order. Nigeria and Nigerians need a fresh breath at the moment so as to escape the present backwardness and frustrations.” He said.
He expressed the optimism that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal will do justice to the case before it and ensure that the real winner of the election, Mr Peter Obi’s victory is restored to him.
Asked to comment on the removal of fuel subsidy, Chief Igwe who is also the chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Suzuki Don International, said that it is the right thing to do but added that Tinubu is doing it the wrong way.
“All the necessary infrastructure should be in place before removal of the subsidy, Nigeria has the crude, but the refineries are not functional, the right thing to do first is to ensure that the refineries are repaired before removal of fuel subsidy. The president can as well legalize the importation of fuel and allow the forces of demand and supply to determine the price.” He explained.
