The Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, toured the IVM manufacturing facility at Uru Umudim Nnewi and, later, the extension under construction at Umuezena, Umudim, Nnewi.
The Chairman and CEO of IVM, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma, received the Governor and took him and his team around the manufacturing processes. Upon completion of the tour, ChiefInnoson Governor inspected some of the finished vehicles on display.
At the Umuezena Umudim, it was a sprawling expanse of land. The office block had been completed, while a huge manufacturing facility was near completion.
Chief Innoson Chukwuma explained to the Governor that the Umuezena Umudim extension is for CNG-powered buses, heavy-duty trucks, etc.
The Governor thanked Chief Innoson Chukwuma for being the pride of Nigeria and Africa. The Governor said, “While some were busy running away, Innoson is busy expanding”.
The Governor commended Innoson for how he had trained the young people working the production line. The Governor said that he was proud that the workers were indeed indigenous without the expatriates looking over their shoulders.
The Governor reiterated that Anambra State is ready to keep providing the enabling environment for manufacturers and called on Ansmbrarians to emulate what Chief Innoson is doing.
Meanwhile, he called on the remaining youths in the bushes to come out to join the skills acquisition program he set up in the state. Governor Soludo said that the kidnapping business is a one-way traffic to an untimely end.
Professor Soludo informed Chief Innoson that the state had acquired an industrial area strictly for industries. “His government is near completion of mapping the site by the consultant,” Soludo informed the audience.
