The commercial activities of the industrial town of Nnewi received a boost on Saturday as Nnewichi community commissioned the second phase of her ultra modern shopping plaza.
The commissioning ceremony took place at the popular Nkwo-Nnewi triangle.
In his speech at the occasion, the President General (PG) of Nnewichi, Elder Soge Egbuna revealed that nineteen shops and three offices were commissioned.
He noted that works started on the second phase of the ultra modern plaza few months ago when the land which has been empty and void was reclaimed.
Elder Egbuna pointed out that his administration has also been carrying out palliative works on the dilapidated roads in Nnewichi to ensure free flow of traffic.
The Nnewichi-Nnewi PG also revealed that security bikes and other security gadgets have been purchased to ensure that the security of the community remain intact.
He said as a matter of fact that little can be achieved in an environment devoid of functional security apparatus.
He said further that the incumbent Executive Council of Nnewichi is also spending heavily on the community’s health center so as to enable the center operate without hitches.
Elder Egbuna however applauded Obi Nnewichi, HH Chief Obidiugwu Onyekaba and all the Obis of the communities that constitute Nnewichi as well as the stakeholders for their cooperation without which the dream of his administration to move Nnewichi forward wouldn’t have been realizable.
