It was a celebration galore at Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) Nnewi, Anambra State, on Thursday as the management put an end-of-the-year party together for the staffers.
The members of staff of the medical institution used the occasion to review the performance of the management team led by the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Prof Joseph Ugboaja (OON).
Obi Nnewichi-Nnewi, Chief Onyekaba Obidiugwu, in his speech, commended the management team for moving the hospital to an enviable height over a very short time.
He said that the CMD had turned the hitherto abandoned permanent site of the hospital into a place witnessing uninterrupted development on a daily basis.
Obidiugwu also commended Prof Ugboaja for running a compassionate and responsible administration that is not toying with the welfare of the institution’s staff members.
Some of the members of the management team who spoke at the occasion applauded the CMD for radically transforming the teaching hospital.
On the occasion, Prof Ugboaja thanked the staffers for their unflinching support for his administration.
He said that he is passionate about getting partners who will collaborate with the hospital so as to sustain the momentum of transformation going on in NAUTH.
The CMD said that he has worked out modalities to ensure that Awaiting Bill Settlement (ABS) patients go home and reconcile with their families for Yuletide.
He also assured the members of staff that their welfare and well being will continue to be Paramount to his administration.
Prof Ugboaja, who feasted the members of staff of the medical institution at the occasion, also ensured that each of them went home with a bag of rice.
The occasion was attended by the political class, leaders of thought, clergies, and friends of the hospital.
