It was a show of class, glamour, and grace on Sunday as old-school friends honored and celebrated one of their own, Chief Oseloka Godwin Osuigwe (SAN).
The event took place at Classic Munich Hotel and Resorts Nnewi, Anambra State.
The anchor of the reception program, Prof. Chukwuemeka Azikiwe while speaking at the occasion said that Chief Osuigwe (SAN) is the first person in their committee of professional friends to get Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) which according to him is not a mean feat.
Prof Azikiwe said as a matter of fact that the accomplishment calls for celebrations.
“We cannot afford not to honor and celebrate Chief Osuigwe a legal icon and a luminary, he is eminently deserving of all the accolades. As his friends, we are uniquely saddled with the responsibility of celebrating him,” he said.
In his own comment, Bar. Ike Obeta noted that Chief Oseloka Osuigwe (SAN) is a man that has created records and broken many records not minding his humble begining.
He pointed out that the celebrant never allow his background to have a negative effect on his career. Chief Osuigwe never allowed his success to go to his head, or interfere socialization with his friends.
Barr Obeta described the recently recognized and decorated Senior Advocate of Nigeria as an amiable personality, whose reputation and integrity are common knowledge, about the celebrant, “Barr Osuigwe (SAN) is not a fraudulent person, he is hardworking and a respectable citizen who is well deserving of being a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
Barr Ikenna Obidiegwu also commended the persons who initiated and organized this reception for Barr Osuigwe, who has attained greater heights at a relatively young age, the celebrant has created a nitch for himself for always being on the go like the Japanese,” he said.
A renowned judge who has been a very close friend of Chief Osuigwe also said that the best thing a parent should do is to give children is good education and give them financial support, instead of leaving properties, that often result in legal battle the family after the life.
He advised the younger ones to borrow a leaf from Barr Osuigwe by giving their children education and training. They should give it a top priority it deserves. In the journey to self-actualization, sacrifices must be made as Rome was not built in a day.
“Humble begining is not a crime, many successful people who are occupying positions of authority and affluence have stories to tell about their childhood, education and so on,” he stressed.
Many professional colleagues of Barr Osuigwe were on hand to add colour to the colourful reception.
Dr. Ezeakukwu Emma Nsoedo while proposing a toast to Chief Osuigwe reminded the guests that “Osuigwe is a living legend, a Colossus, and a kind person. “He was one of the youngest persons, if not the youngest to have been honored by HRH Igwe Orizu III with a chieftaincy title based on merit.”
Chief Oseloka Osuigwe (SAN) in his short speech said that he was overwhelmed by the show of love displayed towards him by his friends who put the occasion together for the celebration.
He expressed his gratitude to the organizers and all the persons who created time to be part of the epoch-making reception.
The gathering was one of its kind as many personalities from all walks of life graced the occasion, amongst whom are Barr Ike Obeta, Barr Ikenna Obidiegwu, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ifezulike, Prof. M.J.Nwankwo, (Nze chinyelugo), Prof. Frank Anaeto and Hon Chiedu Nsoedo.
Others are Hon.Fabian Onuegbu, Dr Jack Ogwuegbu, Barr Achike Martin, Chief Humphrey Odenigbo, Barr Robinson Odimegwu, Prof Ezechukwu and Prof, K. Chilaka, Anambra State DPP Nkeiru Nwankwo and many other personalities.
It was a wonderful luncheon reception that was well organized. The night session was even more calming as guests danced till the wee hours of the morning.
