Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Soludo has suspended the contributory pension scheme in the state.
The Anambra State chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Humphrey Nwafor revealed this after a meeting with the governor.
He explained that Gov Soludo has set up a committee to take up the matter, with a view to investigating the money deductions, why they were made and report back within eight weeks.
Comrade Nwafor said that the governor has also set up a committee to look into the minimum wage issue and report back within three months.
The labour leader added that issues surrounding Ndị Olu Microfinance bank is already being addressed by a committee set up by the state government, stressing that their report is being expected by May, 31, 2024.
He said that the union has gotten assurance from Gov Soludo that he would announce the composition of membership of the Civil Service Commission and judicial Service Commission in a matter of hours and that the governor has also approved that a land be designated to build the Organized Labour Union Secretariat.
The state chairman of TUC, Comrade Chris Ogbonna in a separate comment corroborated the statement made by the NLC chairman.
