A highly respected Community and Church Leader in the person of Hon. Tony Muodielu, who is equally the incumbent Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Nnewi North Chapter, has described His Excellency Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo as the Best Thing that has ever happened to Anambra State since it’s creation. He gave this verdict during an exclusive interview with Don Peter Okoro at his Umuzu Mbana Otolo Nnewi County home. In his words: “Solution is here, and it is visible that he is here. The best tree with the fruit is always the one that is mostly targeted. The best thing to have happened to Anambra State in recent times is Soludo. The records are there for even the blind to see. In the Bible, the Disciples of John the Baptist came to Jesus to ask if He was the Messiah or if they should wait for another. Jesus replied that they should tell John that the Blind see, the lame walk, and the dead are brought back to life. This is what I want the Critics of Soludo to understand. Is it in road infrastructure? Before the coming of Soludo, you couldn’t point to any tangible road; the roads were nothing to write home about. They were all dead, but now you can see the transformation that has taken place. The road network now is top-notch Nnewi here, check out Okpunoeze Road, check out the road leading to The Permanent Site of Teaching; what about Bank Road? He is undergoing intensive reconstruction, and he has also been awarded the contract for the Adili road. The other day he promised that after the dualization of the Awka— Agulu— Ekwulobia axis, he will now join Agulu to Nnewi to Okija. In terms of Security, he is doing marvelously well. You will agree that before Soludo came you couldn’t sleep with both eyes closed. Anambra was like a war front. He has tackled insecurity headlong. Even though we cannot say it is Uhuru yet, there is a great improvement. Then, coming to Education, in the history of Anambra State, the Governor has made employment at the inception of his administration. They sometimes employ at the tail end of their tenure, but Soludo came in, and when he saw the sorry State of education, he first omployed 5,000 Teachers and, upon evaluation, employed another 3,000. He has also made Education free from Kindergarten to JSS 3 in all Public Schools. Even those in SSS have their fees drastically reduced. In the area of Youth Empowerment, he introduced the One Youth Two Skills after first empowering over 5,000 Youths and giving them Startup Capital, and now another 10,000 are on the line. This is one of the best ways to fight crime. Are you talking about health Centres? Places where there have never gotten anything like Health Centres have been visited. He is also doing a lot of work on the Environment, like tackling floods and erosion. I cannot exhaust all that the Governor is doing.
