Insecurity bane of Anambra development at 33, JTF boss declares

The National President of Joint Transporters Forum, (JTF), Reverend Elvis Okolie, has observed that Anambra State is still groping in darkness in terms of developmental strides as a result of lingering insecurity.

Rev’d Okolie made this observation during an interactive session with journalists in Awka.

He said that Anambra at 33 shouldn’t be a baby or a toddler, but an adult in her prime that should be putting her energies together for future development with a view of guaranteeing a secured old age.

The JTF president said that Anambra at her age ought to have produced meaningfully two to four vintage projects within the years of her existence.

Reverend Okolie pointed out that that the creation of States was aimed at taking development to the communities in such states, noting that states are meant to drive development down to the people at the grassroots, quicker and easier.

He noted that at 33, developmental index for Anambra State is not fantastic which according to him is majorly caused by insecurity.

The JTF president said that the state should have developed an internal mechanism interms of security architecture to handle any form of insecurity especially since the state is monolithic without any form of threat of tribalism.

“Let me use this opportunity to call on Anambra State Government and Security Agencies in the state to do something meaningful about insecurity in the state immediately.

“We are in a digital era, where we do not have to apply analogue and archaic patterns to solving a contemporary problems like insecurity, kinetic approach being applied now for the lingering insecurity cannot work because one cannot tell an hungry person to stop crying without giving the person food,” he asserted.

Rev’d Okolie said that Anambra State should have developed an enabling environment to positively engage the youths so that they can use their energy for productive purposes.
