A highly respected and well-known Philanthropist, Peacemaker and Successful Businessman, Deacon Ikechukwu Meshack Odide has been appointed as a United Nations Ambassador For World Peace under the Peace and Positive Living Awareness Centre, and awarded the honour of AMBP-UN and is now to go by the Title of His Excellency and Ambassador.
The honour came on Saturday the 21st of September 2024 during the celebration of the United Nations WORLD PEACE DAY EVENT which was hosted by the United Nations PEPOLAC and was convened by the International Coordinator, His Excellency, Dr. Festus Ozioma Ozoemena. Dr Ozoemena was physically present to bestow the honour on him in a colourful ceremony which attracted the high and the mighty from all walks of life.
It was a very successful event which also witnessed the Investure of 13 other Awardees. In a chat with our correspondence, Deacon Ikechukwu Odide stated that he has always been a champion of peace. In his words:”Even here in this Awka where I’m doing my business of Real Estate; I don’t make trouble.”
“Once it comes to the issue of arguing, I try to get things resolved without going to court. I hope to continue with that way of life. One thing about peace is that you need to create an enabling environment for peace to reign. In order to do that, one of the things I have done is to single-handedly build a house for God”.
“I have also built a Police Station in my place to make sure there is peace in my community. Whenever I arrive my hometown, people always come around to testify that I am a man of peace. With this honour, it has given me a moral boost to continue to make peace at all times.”
“On the role Government can play to ensure that peace reigns in the land, he posits thus: “One of the things Government can do is to look at an Organization like this and select people who can resolve conflicts and give them official stamp to settle disputes. Like in my place, we have a Committee of Peacemakers made up of people who can resolve disputes without going to court, or resorting to violence. Government should bring out people like that in each community”.
“Government should also make it official for anyone who is a Peace Ambassador to meditate in any dispute and any verdict arrived at should be honoured as valid and abiding.” Born into the family of Chief Sir S.N. Odide, he hails from Adonte in Aniocha South LGA of Delta State.
Amb Ikechukwu Meshack Odide is an ordained Deacon in the Living Epistles Global Churches. He is equally the Chairman/ CEO of MIO Group of Companies Ltd. He began his educational journey at Onihe Primary School Ogwashi-Uku where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He later proceeded to NIFOR Academy in Edo State where he completed his secondary school education. Thereafter, he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Statistics at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka. He also has an HND in Architecture from the Federal Polytechnic Oko, Anambra State.
He now sits atop MIO Constructions Company Nig. Ltd and other subsidiaries of MIO Group of Companies Ltd. Deacon Ikechukwu Meshack Odide is a seasoned Real Estate Developer and an astute Businessman. He is happily married to Barr. Sarah Ikechukwu and they are blessed with children.
