The Special Adviser to Anambra State Governor on Political Matters, Dr Alex Obiogbolu has described persons criticizing the Anambra State House of Assembly over the recently promulgated 2024 LGA bills as the enemies of the State.
Dr Obiogbolu while briefing the press in his office said that those persons actually want to take the state back to her past of total breakdown of law and order.
He said that such persons, especially a member of the National Assembly who according to him has not attracted any federal project to his constituency, are only playing to the gallery because of the forthcoming 2025 guber election.
Dr Obiogbolu said as a matter of fact that Ndi-Anambra cannot be deceived by their antics and blatant lies which he said has always been their stock in trade.
“The 2024 LGA bill did not in any way contradict the Constitution of the nation and the supreme Court judgment. It is important to realize that all LGAs have functions but there are shared responsibilities.
“The bill only recognize the fact that there is need for a common pool where the Local Government Areas will be drawing from, to execute their programs and projects.
“Members of the Consolidated Account Commitee include the Deputy Governor, twenty one LGAs chairmen, Commissioners for budget planning, education, health and agriculture, from the composition of the Commitee, it’s obvious that the LGA Chairmen are in the majority,” Dr Obiogbolu explained.
He recalled that the incumbent administration inherited a whooping fourteen billion Naira debt in gratiuty and pensions in the local government service.
The Special Adviser to Gov Soludo said that his principal has been clearing the indebtedness since he assumed office.
“Anambra State set the pace with the establishment of Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG) to tackle insecurity which has become a national malady, there is hardly any week the group don’t record breakthroughs in conjunction with other security operatives.
“The people making mouth now are not residents of the state, one of them who is a member of the National Assembly will soon bury his father in the state he is going around to blackmail.
“Ndi-Anambra have left Egypt of insecurity, and indebtedness to workers, I can only appeal to the people of the state living outside not to mind the noise from people who want to take the state back to the era of locusts and cankerworms.
“Today, under the watch of Gov Charles Soludo, Anambra State he become a destination point for leisure, tourism and business, 14.9 km of roads have been constructed in the senator’s district, Okpoko has enjoyed the solution touch of the governor, many communities hitherto unaccessible have been opened up, he said.
