We didn’t attack Army in Imo -IPOB

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has denied claims by the Nigeria Army that its members recently attacked soldiers camped at the Aba Branch, Ehime-Mbano in Imo State.

Spokesman of the group, Emma Powerful, in a statement he released to newsmen at the weekend said the claims were not only false but mockery a to the institution itself.

“The claims by the Nigerian Army that ESN attacked them (it men) was not only false but a mockery to the military institution. For public records, ESN operatives do not attack the Nigerian Security Forces but are focused in dismantling the remnant of Fulani terrorists in our forest and bushes.

“If the claims by the soldiers that they were attacked by any armed groups how come neither the Nigerian soldiers nor the gunmen suffered casualty? Nigerian Army is just demeaning its remaining integrity thinking that it is blackmailing IPOB and ESN.

“After the Nigeria Police failed to demonise IPOB, the Nigerian Army took over the contract from the Nigerian Government to frame IPOB and ESN up.

“That’s why the Nigerian Army has abandoned the war against the terrorists and bandits in the North and has deployed its entire propaganda machine against IPOB and ESN.

“Let the public ignore the military propaganda. ESN operatives did not engage the Nigerian Army and never engaged in criminal activities and no IPOB member or ESN operative killed in Ehime-Mbano LGA, Imo State.

“IPOB and ESN operatives are disciplined and remain resolute to driving Fulani terrorists out of our land. The Nigeria Army cannot distract us with fallacious propaganda,” Powerful stated.
