The CMD of NAUTH, Prof Joseph Ugboaja OON pays a courtesy visit to APC National Working Committee

The Chief Medical Director of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) paid a courtesy visit to the APC National Working Committee.

The visit has a dual effect: first of all, it shows a mark of respect on the part of the CMD to identify with NAUTH’s incumbent Board chairman, Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori’s position as one of the critical leaders of APC, being the Deputy National Chairman, North. Secondly, it gave the CMD an opportunity to drum up support for NAUTH among men and women who wield a lot of power and influence in Nigeria.

As a non traditional CMD, Professor Ugboaja took the opportunity of the visit to share his vision and strategic plan for transforming NAUTH into a world-class reference hospital. He presented the institution’s comprehensive development agenda and highlighted the significant progress already achieved under his leadership.

The CMD expressed appreciation to the ruling party for producing a President, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinunbu, who is executing a progressive health agenda, noting the positive impact of recent health policy initiatives on ordinary Nigerians. He emphasized the importance of political support in achieving sustainable healthcare reform, while seeking enhanced collaboration between NAUTH and the party’s health policy architects.

Prof. Ugboaja extended a formal invitation to NWC members to attend NAUTH’s upcoming April meeting, which will mark the 2nd year anniversary of the commissioning of the permanent site. During the event, the management will showcase the hospital’s achievements and future development plans. Prof Ugboaja informed them that NAUTH intends to have members of the presidency in attendance.

The National Chairman of the APC, Gov. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, warmly received the NAUTH delegation and thanked Prof. Ugboaja for the excellent reception recently accorded to Hon. Dalori in his capacity as the Board Chairman of the hospital. Governor Ganduje pledged the party’s readiness to work closely with NAUTH and other healthcare leaders with similar ideologies to advance Nigeria’s health sector.

Hon. Dalori’s dual role as both NAUTH Board Chairman and APC Deputy National Chairman (North), is strategic as it creates a unique opportunity for NAUTH to leverage political goodwill in its quest to become a leading healthcare institution in West Africa.
