As the world marks International Workers’ Day, the Labour Party governorship candidate in the November 8 Anambra State guber polls Chief George Moghalu has extended his heartfelt commendation to workers across the state and Nigeria.

The former Managing Director of NIWA, Chief Dr. George Moghalu, in a personally signed message praised the role of workers in sustaining the economy and building society, describing them as the “true builders and heartbeat of progress.”

“From the streets of Onitsha to the classrooms in Awka, from artisans in Ekwulobia to traders in Otuocha—our workers carry the weight of our state and keep hope alive every single day. I celebrate their resilience, strength, and dignity,” he stated.

Dr. Moghalu used the occasion to reiterate his unwavering commitment to a people-centered administration that will place workers’ welfare, rights, and growth at the core of governance.

“I envision an Anambra where every worker has a fair chance to thrive—where your labour is respected, your efforts are rewarded, and your future is secured. No one will be left behind under my watch.”

He emphasized the need for improved working conditions, sustainable job creation, fair wages, and stronger partnerships between government, organized labour, and the private sector.

“We must work together to build an economy that works for everyone—not just the privileged few. Workers are not expendable—they are essential,” he added.

Chief Moghalu also acknowledged the challenges facing the labour force and promised to address them through strategic policy reforms, social equity programs, and transparent governance.
