Anambra police has arrested two suspects over an attack on police and Military personnel that recorded the burning of an Army Operational vehicle at Oba Ofemili.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Orutugu describes the act as a test of the will of the security agencies and an attack on the soul of a nation.

According to a press release made available by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwku Ikenga, Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad Awkuzu in a diligent follow-up of investigation over an attack on Police and Military Operatives that recorded the burning of an Army Operational vehicle in Enugwu-Agu Village Oba Ofemili, Awka North LGA, arrested two suspects positively identified in the disturbing incident.
“The two suspects: Uche Egwu ‘M’ 35 years, and Jindo Onyeka ‘M’ 32 years respectively, confessed their involvement and provided useful information on other persons involved in the act.
“The disturbing incident occurred on 13th April 2025 where some armed individuals unprovokedly attacked the Security Operatives and some Stakeholders of the community.
“The Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu while commending the act of gallantry and professionalism of the Security Operatives in managing the situation as no loss of life was recorded, described the situation as a grave and deliberate act to test the will of the security agencies and as an attack on the soul of a Nation.
“He charged the Operatives to expand the scope of their investigation for the possible arrest of other fleeing suspects. He further emphasised the need for collective action to protect those who safeguard the nation”, it stated.
