The governorship aspiration of the Labour Party(LP) standard bearer in November 8 guber polls received a boost on Thursday as the Obidient Movement officially endorsed the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Dr. George Moghalu, along with his running mate, Mrs. Ifeoma Okaro.

The endorsement was unanimously adopted during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting held at the Labour Party Secretariat in Awka which was witnessed by all the twenty one LGA coordinators, ward representatives, and key grassroots leaders of the movement.
The State Lead Coordinator, Mr. Charles Anueyiagu, reaffirmed the movement’s unity and determination noting that, “The Obidient Movement in Anambra remains indivisible and mission-driven. We stand with Chief Dr. George Moghalu, not just as a candidate, but as a beacon of the change we believe in. We are battle-ready to secure Labour Party’s victory,”

Anueyiagu directed immediate mobilization across the state, assuring members that the forthcoming campaign would be “massive and unmatched in energy.”
He declared that the group also will not be divided by political propaganda or external interference, “Our eyes are on the prize, the successful election of a competent, people-centered Labour Party Governor.” he said.
In his own comment, the Chief Patron of the movement, Prof. Pat Obi, commended the stakeholders for their unity of purpose, drawing a strong moral line to Mr. Peter Obi, the ideological anchor of the movement.
“Peter Obi remains firmly in the Labour Party. This movement is rooted in his values, transparency, accountability, and people-first leadership. Therefore, our support must remain with the Labour Party and with Chief Dr. George Moghalu,” he asserted.
Prof Obi urged members to deepen grassroots mobilization and focus on delivering results at the polls. “Anambra must elect a Labour Party governor and we must make it happen.”
The LP governorship candidate, Chief Moghalu expressed profound gratitude for the endorsement and the trust placed in him by the movement.
“I am truly humbled by this show of trust and solidarity from the Obidient Movement. Your belief in me is not taken lightly, and I promise from the depth of my heart, I will not fail you,” Moghalu said.
He pledged that his administration, if elected, would uphold the values the movement stands for justice, equity, youth inclusion, infrastructural development, security, and responsible governance.
“This is our time to rebuild Anambra with fresh vision and courageous leadership. Together, we will deliver a new era of peace, progress, and prosperity,” he declared.
Moghalu further promised to lead an inclusive and transparent government, one that would harness the energy and ideals of the Obidient Movement to drive real transformation across all communities. “I accept this endorsement with humility, and I will carry it as a badge of honour. We are one team, one voice, one mission and that mission is victory come November 8.”
