Labour Party governorship candidate in Anambra State, Chief Dr. George Moghalu, has charged members of the party’s Directorate of Mobilization and Integration (DMI) to intensify grassroots efforts ahead the November 8 gubernatorial election.

Speaking at the inauguration of Anambra South DMI coordinators held at Omeke Hall, Ekwulobia, Moghalu praised the commitment of the DMI team and urged them to take the project personally.
“I thank you all for your good work. We are aware of your efforts, and we deeply appreciate them,” Moghalu said. “Your responsibility is to mobilize – to go out and bring out the people. Anambra has over 2 million registered voters, but only about 300,000 voted in the last election. We must change that narrative.”

He emphasized the importance of voter turnout, urging coordinators to convince the electorate to rally behind Labour Party, which he described as “the party of our leader, His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi.”
“As Peter Obi prepares for the 2027 presidential race, we must first deliver Anambra State. This governorship election is for Peter Obi. The presidential contest begins with this governorship race,” Moghalu stated.
The LP candidate stressed that the campaign should be people-driven, united in voice and purpose. “Let us go out, speak to our people, and ensure they vote. It will take our opponents by surprise. I don’t believe in numbers alone – I believe in quality. We are enough to make a governor.”
He also acknowledged the vital role of women in the campaign. “No woman, no nation. Everyone is important. We will support you to succeed.”
In his remarks, State DMI Coordinator, Chief Nnamdi Paul Igboeli, thanked Moghalu for honoring the event and reaffirmed the commitment of his team to deliver victory for Labour Party in the election.
“Our goal is clear – to elect Chief Dr. George Moghalu as the next governor of Anambra State. We are mobilizing from all directions to make it happen,” he declared.
Dignitaries present at the event included Labour Party’s Anambra South Senatorial aspirant, Hon. Chuma Nzeribe, the state chairman of the party, Hon. Ugochukwu Emeh, the party’s Deputy Chairman for Anambra South, Rev. Christian Orajekwe and among others.
