PRESS STATEMENT
From the Office of the Campaign Director-General
Okoli-Egbo Tyndale Oforbuike Campaign Organisation

Yesterday’s Anambra South Senatorial By-election has come and gone. Though our great party, the Young Progressives Party (YPP), did not clinch victory at the polls, we are proud of the impressive outing of our candidate, Okoli-Egbo Tyndale Oforbuike.
In an election that unfortunately turned into an auction for the highest bidder — where votes were openly sold and democracy was put under the strain of monetisation — the courage and integrity of those who stood by their conscience and voted for capacity will not be forgotten.

We extend our profound gratitude to:
- The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting the exercise,
- Our campaign organisation for its dedication,
- Party faithfuls, stakeholders, and the entire YPP family for their sacrifice,
- And most importantly, the people of Anambra South for turning up and exercising their franchise.
This is not the end.
Okoli-Egbo Tyndale Oforbuike and the YPP will continue to serve as a strong voice of advocacy, constructive opposition, and accountability. We will hold government to its promises, defend the interests of our people, and keep faith with the ideals of good governance.
We also extend our goodwill to the declared winner of the election and wish him well in office. Ultimately, the task ahead is not about party colours but about delivering development to our people.
The YPP remains committed to building a better Anambra South and a stronger South-East.
Signed,
Chief Ibeokonkwo Michael
