Anambra decides: APC NWC member urges electorate to vote party’s candidate

The Deputy National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nze Chidi Duru, has pleaded with the electorate to see the party’s candidate, Nicholas Ukachukwu, as their preferred choice during this weekend’s off-cycle Anambra State governorship election.

He made the appeal in an interview with Daily Sun in Abuja ahead of the poll, stressing that having put up a robust campaign, and quality manifesto to convince the people of Anambra, it is however left for them to take the final decision in favour of the APC.

He said that as a party man, he is looking forward to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) living up to the expectations of Nigerians to ensure conduct of a free, fair and credible election in the state this weekend in line with the marching order from President Bola Tinubu.

Asked the chances of APC in the Anambra governorship election, the former House of Representatives member replied: “I wish I am in a position to aggregate the views of the electorate in Anambra state. But, what I know is that we have put forward a campaign, put forward a manifesto to the people of Anambra state.”

“That, for us, is what we look forward to. We hope that the electorate in Anambra see us as the preferred option, and that will be what we would hope to see. At the end of the day it is down to the electorate to decide,” Duru said.
