Governor Chukwuma Soludo has commended the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Joash Amupitan, on the conduct of the governorship election in Anambra.
Soludo, who was elected after being declared the winner by the commission, hailed the poll as the best held in his state.
According to the re-elected governor, the election held on Saturday gave Amupitan’s leadership a strong and positive first impression.
“To the Independent National Electoral Commission, I must very specifically thank you and thank in particular, the new INEC chairman, Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan.
“This is your first outing, and as the saying goes, you don’t have a second chance to create a first impression. I am very excited that your very first impression is a very emphatic one,” Soludo said.
“INEC delivered, and I must put it on record that since I’ve been participating actively in the electoral process in Anambra, particularly since 2017 when you started experimenting with technology, every election here has been getting better and better.
“It is fair to say that this is the best that you have organised so far in Anambra,” the governor added.
