The Spiritual Head of Soul Revival Outreach, Nnewi, Anambra State, Prophet Ikechukwu Uzukwu has appealed to President Donald Trump to investigate and punish persons and groups killing Christians in Nigeria.
Prophet Uzukwu who made this call on Saturday while speaking with journalists said that to avoid a big problem is to avoid smaller ones noting that there is no problem that normally start big.
He said as a matter of fact that the insecurity challenges in Africa can be likened to a situation in the biblical saying that whenever there is problem in heaven, the Earth suffers.
The Spiritual Head of Soul Revival Outreach said that whenever there is problem in advanced nation’s, Africa countries normally suffer the backlash.
“I thank the President of United States of America, a Christian brother for expressing readiness to help Nigerian Christians and the entire nation. Our leaders for decades could not tackle insurgency, they rather use the opportunity to embezzle funds meant for purchase of military hardware.
“Our leaders both past and present are busy negotiating with bandits and criminals, a situation which has not yielded any positive result. Billions of the nation’s resources are given to radicalized bandits in the pretence that they are negotiating with them,” he pointed out.
Prophet Uzukwu said that if American President is ready to do what Nigerian government cannot do, the best according to him is commend whoever that is coming to rescue the nation from the captivity of bandits.
He said as a matter of fact that what is reasonable is for Nigerian government to encourage President Trump to finish the war against insurgency which they could not even start.
“Some of the arms and ammunition bought with huge monies are eventually diverted to the bandits’ camps, is.it not someone who made that possible?
“When bandits first hit the country, their major targets are the Christians, killing Christians and burning churches, whenever any of the insurgents are arrested, they normally find their way back to their camps because of dysfunctional and corrupt justice system in the country.
“Nigerian leaders will always pretend to be doing something about the ugly development but actually doing nothing about the rampaging killers.
“Nigerian Christians living in the Northern part of the country were the first target of the insurgents, many of them had to return home because they no longer feel secure and it was after the exit of Southern Christians that the bandits’ started attacking and killing Northern Christians.
“Interestingly and unfortunately too, government has ascribed their failure to successfully tackle and contain bandits on infiltration of the system by the killer insurgents leading to slaughtering of poor masses like animals on a large scale.
“In Western world, the system protect the animals, it’s amazing to hear Nigerian elutes claim that terrorists and bandits operating freely in the country are not targeting Christians, the question that readily comes to mind is that, if they are not targeting the Christian community, who is it they are targeting.
“A notorious bandit named Shekarau once claimed that they are in Nigeria to fight religious war, a young lady called Deborah was killed. We are owing ourselves the responsibility of telling President Donald Trump and the rest of the world the simple truth.
“It ridiculous how people forget so easily how bandits were recruited by some elements to oversee the oust of the administration of former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, certain eminent personalities like the British Prime Minister were seeing hobnobbing with sponsors of insurgency at a point in time.
“It was in the news recently that a 29 year old man killed a herdsman in self defense, he sustained multiple stabs from the herder, now, not minding the circumstances, he has been sentence to death by hanging by the so called Honourable Court which by all intents and purposes is injustice.
“I passionately appeal to President Donald Trump to investigate how insurgency started in Nigeria in particular and Africa in general and make the culprits face the full consequences of the inglorious crimes against Nigeria and humanity,” Prophet Uzukwu asserted.
