It was a double celebration as an Oraifite-born Philanthropist, Sir Nnamdi Onuchukwu has been conferred with the honour of the Knight of St. John International (KSJl), and celebrated his 60th birthday in grand style.
During a thanksgiving Mass commemorating Sir Nnamdi Onuchukwu’s 60th birthday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Isingwu Oraifite in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Sunday November 16, 2025, the Parish Priest in his sermon charged the congregation to be prepared for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.


He described Knights as soldiers of the church, adding that they are being respected in the church. He appraised the examplary life of Sir Onuchukwu, whose philanthropic nature and his undying love for humanity need to be emulated.
Speaking at the grand reception held at the celebrant country home in Isingwu Oraifite, Sir Nnamdi Onuchukwu (Ofu onye ado anu uda egbe) of Oraifite, appreciated God Almighty for being alive to witness another year despite the challenges of life.




“Celebrating my 60th birthday, I am just grateful to God for the life after all I have been through” he said.
Sir Onuchukwu said in life one has to trust God, work hard and dream big and went further to encourage people to give, stating that “no life is worth living without giving”.
“The more you give, the more you receive. We don’t give to receive from man but from God. My own is to dedicate the rest of my life to the service of God and humanity” he noted.
Sir Onuchukwu, who had contributed immensely to the development of his community, Isingwu, sponsored so many less privileged children from primary school to university level, contributed to solidify security in his community and beyond. He said the accolades and titles he received from his people remained a testament of his secret giving.




Barrister George Uwolloh ( Nnadilinwa) described the celebrant as a true friend, a man with a good heart and trusted friend. He prayed that God would continue to be with him and his family.
On the same note, the celebrant’s brother, Chief Charles Onuchukwu described Sir Nnamdi Onuchukwu as a unique person, self discipline and a giver, who according to him has contributed immensely to wellbeing of his family and humanity at large. He prayed that God would continue to protect and guide his family to live in harmony.
The PG of Isingwu community, Chief Sir Godwin Ugochukwu said the celebrant remained a good man, whose love for his community know no bounds. He said Sir Onuchukwu as one of the biggest stakeholders in Isingwu community, has been there for the people.
“He always contribute to the community’s development. We are here to celebrate our own, who has done so much for us. Cocking 60, and becoming a knight of St. John is worth thanking God for” he stressed.
Chief Ugochukwu urged people to emulate Sir Onuchukwu’s philanthropic nature and embrace what is good.
The event witnessed cutting of cake by the celebrant, merriment and presentation of over ten thousand exercise books, pens and pencils to students of his community school.
