The Kwankwasiyya Movement has announced that its leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has concluded arrangements to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marking a significant political shift ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a press statement issued on Saturday night, the polirical bloc disclosed that Kwankwaso would officially register with the Opposition coalition party on Monday, March 30, 2026, at his residence located on Miller Road in Kano, by 12 p.m.
The statement, signed by the spokesperson of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, Dr. Habibu Sale Mohammed, directed all members across the country to immediately proceed with registration into the ADC at their respective ward, local government area, and state levels following their leader’s formal enrolment.Advertisement
“Members are also encouraged to fully engage in all party activities and contribute actively toward the growth, development, and success of the party at all levels,” the statement read.
The movement described the decision as strategic, noting that it was taken in the best interest of its members, Kano State, and the country at large. “This strategic decision, as always, has been taken in the best interest of the movement, our state, and the nation at large. It reflects our unwavering commitment to the advancement of democratic values, good governance, and the collective aspirations of the people,” the statement partly read.
Reaffirming its stance, the Kwankwasiyya Movement stressed the need to safeguard democracy and uphold the will of the people, while pledging to remain united and focused on building a more inclusive Nigeria.
