The Mayor of Idemili North, Hon Stanley Nkwoka has praised several markets within his LGA for complying with Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s ‘No more Monday sit at home directive.
Conducting his usual Monday weekly Market inspection to ensure compliance, Hon Nkwoka at the New Auto Spare Parts Market Nkpor said he was very impressed with the level of activities in the market and its environs commending the auto spare parts traders for turning up enmasse to transact there businesses.

“I am happy that all the markets within Idemili North LGA have complied with the Governor’s directive ‘ No more Sit at Home on Mondays’. This is past 2 pm yet everywhere is booming, the traders are making their money and the environment is very clean.
“The State Government has provided enough security to ensure that lives and property are secured. You don’t need to see security agents patrolling the market. Security agents are stationed at strategic places, flash points to contain hoodlums should they dare to cause trouble.
“Since the recent No More Monday Sit at home enforcement you can testify to yourself that you have not heard about any sad incident because the State government led by the Solution Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has tackled the issue of insecurity in Anambra State.
“Mr Governor means well for Ndi Anambra and we at the LGAs are willing to implement his policies down to the grassroots,” said Nkwoka.
The Chairman of New Auto Spare Parts Market Chief Stephen Ofoleh( Award) eulogized the achievements of His Excellency, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo saying that the traders would ever remain thankful to him for scraping the Sit at home order and restoring full business activities in the state.
“We have been missing a lot of money and businesses for the last five years due to fear and ignorance but today full business activities has returned to Anambra state thanks to the boldness and initiative of Oluatuegwu, the Solution Governor,” said Ofoleh.
Contributing, Chairman of Amafor Nkpor community, Chief Engr Emmanuel Idemili (Emma Gulder) an ardent supporter of the Idemili North Mayor described Governor Chukwuma Soludo as No 1 and best Governor in the federation thanking him for restoring full business activities on Mondays. “The youths of Amafor Nkpor community are always ready to support Soludo’s administration and provide local security should there be any eventualities but we know there is no cause for alarm”.
The Mayor also visited Electrical International market Obosi, Mgbuka Obosi market, Nkwo Ogidi Timber market expressing satisfaction on their high level of compliance with normal business activities ongoing at the markets.
However, at Nkpor Main Relief Market whereas over 80 percent of the traders were seen conducting their normal businesses, the Mayor observed that some shops were under lock and key.
Nkwoka directed that the shops of those traders who were still observing the Monday Sit at Home directly or indirectly should be sealed.
“These traders are going to stay at home all through this Easter season since they want to seat at home and leave doing business on a Monday in defiance to the Governor’s directive. They may sit at home for one or two weeks until they understand that government means well for them,” said Nkwoka.
The Chairman Nkpor Main Relief Market Idemili North LGA,Chief Paul Okafor (Ugochimereze) reassured the State Government that traders have started coming out for businesses on Monday at their own interest thanking Governor Chukwuma Soludo for the drastic measures taken to restore Monday business.
Reacting to the sealing of shops, Okafor pleaded for leniency saying that some of those whose shops were sealed because of their absence as at the time the Mayor visited the market for inspection around 2:30pm, Monday 30th, 2026 came in the morning to open their shops for businesses but left for home or for another event before normal time of business closure.
