The Anambra State governor, Prof Charles Soludo has sent eighteen names of Commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly.
The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Nkem Udeze has confirmed the receipt of the first batch of Commissioner nominees for confirmation.
The Speaker made the confirmation during the plenary on Tuesday.
Rt Hon Udeze has consequently referred the names of the nominees to the Committee on Screening And Election Matters.
The list includes Agriculture — Dr. Ben Chuks Odoemena, Budget and Economic Planning— Mr. Chukwukadibia Okoye, FCCA, Culture, Entertainment and Tourism — Mr. Udoji Amedu, Education — Dr. Ekene Ogugua, Environment — Dr. Clem Aguiyi, and Finance — Mr. Izuchukwu M. Okafor.
Also on the list are: Health — Dr. Afam Obidike, Information and Value Reformation — Dr. Law Mefor, Justice/Attorney-General — Barr. Tobechukwu Nweke, (SAN), Lands — Prof. Offornze Amucheazi, (SAN) and Local Government and Community Affairs— Barr. Vin Ezeaka.
Others are: Petroleum and Mineral Resources — Prof. Charles Ofoegbu, Physical Planning and Urban Development — Barr. Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu, Power — Engr. Casmir Chinenye Agummadu, Works and Infrastructure — Arc. Okey Ezeobi, Transport — Hon. Eddy Ibuz, Women Affairs and Social Development — Mrs. Esther Chinyere Onyekesi and Youth Development and Sports — Mr. Patrick Agha, MBA
Gov had earlier approved the appointment of new Managing Directors for key government agencies in the state.
A statement by Christian Aburime, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor says that Mr. Emeka Okonkwo is returned as Managing Director of the Anambra Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA).
Mr. Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata is the Managing Director of the Anambra State Information and Communication Technology Agency (ASICTA), while Mr. Osita Onuko is the Managing Director of the Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA).
