Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo has on Monday, swore in new Commissioners and inaugurated the new Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC).
Among the sworn-in commissioners are Ben Odoemena (Agriculture); Chukwukadibia Okoye, FCCA (Budget and Economic Planning); Udoji Amedu (Culture, Entertainment and Tourism); Dr. Ekene Ogugua (Education); Dr. Clem Aguiyi (Environment); Dr. Afam Obidike (Health); Dr. Law Mefor (Information and Value Reformation); Professor Offornze Amucheazi, SAN (Lands); and Vin Ezeaka (Local Government and Community Affairs).
Others are Prof. Charles Ofoegbu (Petroleum and Mineral Resources); Chijioke Oseloka Ojukwu (Physical Planning and Urban Development); Engr. Casmir Agummadu (Power); Engr. Okey Ezeobi (Works and Infrastructure); Eddy Ibuzo (Transport); Esther Onyekesi (Women Affairs and Social Development); Patrick Agha, MBA (Youth Development and Sports); Arc. Henry Arinze (Housing) and Mr. Nonso Chukwuma Ebonwu (Commerce).
The eighteen new commissioners sworn-in today brings the number of commissioners to 20 as the Governor had earlier sworn-in Barr Tochukwu Nweke, SAN, as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice and Izuchukwu M. Okafor as Commissioner for Finance.
Performing the ceremony, Governor Soludo urged the new commissioners not to disappoint Ndị Anambra and to justify the confidence reposed in them by government by meeting the expectations.
He emphasised that their appointments were strictly a call to rigorous work, sacrifice, and public accountability rather than personal celebration, even as he reminded them that the decisions they make will directly impact the lives of over nine million residents of the state.
Also inaugurated were Managing Director, Anambra Road Traffic Agency (ARTMA), Mr. Emeka Okonkwo, Managing Director, Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA), Dr. Ossy Onuko, MD, Information Communication Technology Agency, Mr Fred Agbata and Managing Director, Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, Engr. Obi Okonkwo.
Other members of the new ANSEC that was inaugurated are Mrs Chiamaka Nnake, Secretary to the State Government (SSG); Barr. (Mrs) Ngozi Iwouno, Head of Service (HoS); Dr. Ben Nwankwo, Chief of Staff; Dr Vincent Egbuna Okechi, Deputy Chief of Staff;
Barr Joachin Stephen Anetoh, Principal Secretary; Prof. Frank-Collins Okafor, State Chief of Protocol; Ms Ngozi Lucy Okoye, Deputy Chief of Protocol ; Christian Aburime, Chief Press Secretary and others
