BREAKING: Oyo govt demolishes building allegedly used by kidnappers of Adelabu’s sister

Oyo State Government has demolished a three-bedroom bungalow in the Lako Community along the Aiyegun-Anaye Road in Ibadan, following allegations that the property was used as a hideout by suspected kidnappers who abducted the younger sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her children.

The demolition was carried out on Monday by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, with security provided by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.

The exercise formed part of the state government’s ongoing measures to curb kidnapping and other criminal activities.

The victims, Mrs Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, were reportedly kidnapped on June 3, 2026, at the Elewura area of Challenge in Ibadan before they were later rescued by security operatives.

Government officials said the demolition sends a strong message to criminal elements and reflects the administration’s determination to strengthen security across the state.

According to the state government, properties found to be linked to criminal activities will not be spared as efforts continue to dismantle criminal networks and ensure the safety of residents throughout Oyo.
