Nnewi Cycling Club rides from Nnewi to Owerri

In continuation of their determination to ensure sound health in a sound body, the members of Nnewi Cycling Club on Sunday embarked on cycling from Nnewi in Nnewi North LGA of Anambra State to Owerri, the Imo State Capital.

Nnewi Cycling Club which has been in existence for the past three years has actually rode their bicycles to Awka the Anambra State Capital, Asaba Delta State Capital, Ogbunike in Oyi LGA of Anambra State, Uga in Aguata LGA and Oko in Orumba North LGA also of Anambra State.

The club decided to extend their coverage distance to Owerri with a distance of seventy Kilometers, with the promise to keep beating own records over time.

The ride from Nnewi to Owerri is the longest distance covered by since it came into existence.

The Founder and Chairman of Nnewi Cycling Club, Chief Nicholas Echezona Nsoedo who equally participated in the cycling from Nnewi to Owerri said that the club decided to take a mile stone by move

Chief Nsoedo who is also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Omepuruchukwu Charity Foundation said the trip to Owerri started by 7.30am on Sunday.

He noted that the team arrived Owerri, the Imo State Capital at exactly 11am.

Chief Nsoedo said that the Nnewi Cycling Club is out to encourage people both old and young irrespective of gender to stay fit in line with the Motto of club.

Nnewi Cycling Club has “No Be Race” as her motto and has therefore decided to encourage all and sundry to embrace exercise as a veritable tool of keeping body and soul together.

The Founder of Nnewi Cycling Club however clarified that cycling to different places is not a kind of competitive race but a means to energize and stimulate all parts of the body of members to be agile and healthy.

Chief Nsoedo said as a matter of fact that by doing so, members are sure of healthy living devoid of any form of setback which is normally cause sickness induced by staying still without adequate exercise.

The Chairman and Founder of Nnewi Cycling Club, Chief Nicholas Echezona Nsoedo (Omepuruchukwu Anaedo) revealed that the club started off with few people can now boast of forty one Members’.

He also pointed out that sixteen members participated in the cycling to Owerri.

Omepuruchukwu Anaedo who noted that sedentary lifestyle normally induce weakness of human system asserted that staying healthy can be enhanced by keeping fit with the consequence of healthy long life.

The bicycle ride to Owerri according to Omepuruchukwu Anaedo was sponsored by Canada based Mr Chris Nsoedo (Obataifeadi na Canada) and Chief Sir Dom Obijiaku (Apiti Nnewi) who is also based abroad.

He passionately appreciated the duo of Mr Chris Nsoedo and Chief Dom Obijiaku for their financial and moral support to Nnewi Cycling Club.

Chimezie Agbaeze from Ebonyi State and a Motor cycle Spare Parts dealer in Nkwo Nnewi main market who participated in the cycling exercise to Owerri described the experience as awesome.

He said that the ride to Owerri was the toughest, hardest longest as compared to other places cycling has taken him and other members of club to but added quickly that the experience is worthwhile.

Speaking in the same vein, Chibuzor Akpunonu (Sonya) who hails from Otolo-Nnewi in Nnewi North LGA of Anambra State, a Dealer on Interior and Exterior Decorations said that the cycling club started like a kind of keeping fit activity .

He however said with relish that cycling has taken him and other members of Nnewi Cycling Club to many places within and outside Anambra State.

Sonya called on the good people of Nnewi and residents alike to avail themselves of the unique privilege and benefits of being members of Nnewi Cycling Club.
