Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. John Abang has visited different Police formations destroyed by hooligans during the violent end of the #EndSARS protests that rocked the country.
CP Abang, who was accompanied by high ranking members of the Police Force in Anambra State, urged affected officers not to play into the hands of the hoodlums by losing hope and to also know that their services to their host communities and the nation at large remain indispensable .
The Police Commissioner also said that while reconstruction works are going, a temporary operational base would be immediately set up in affected Area Commands, as directed by the Inspector General of Police, stating that work must continue despite recorded tragedies.
He said that the force would remain committed to its security responsibility to the people, urging the officers and men to see the tragedies as another hazard of service.
Speaking at the Nigeria Police Station, Ichi, a stakeholder, Engineer Ikenna Offodeme, called for a direct communication line for credible intelligence in times of emergency.
The destroyed police property visited by the Police Commissioner and his team included the Central Police Station, Nnewi, Police Area Command Headquarters also in Nnewi, Nigeria Police Station, Ichi, and Ekwusigo Area Command Headquarters, Oraifite.
Others are Ndikpor Uli Divisional Police Station and Divisional Police Headquarters, Ogidi.
Re-construction works, financed by notable persons from the communities, have already begun on some visited Police facilities.
