Talks between Pakistan and Iran were held on Tuesday and focused on measures to prevent further escalation and the Strait of Hormuz, according to a statement from the Pakistani military quoted by Reuters.
Pakistan was a key mediator in the memorandum of understanding signed by Washington and Tehran in June. It set an ambitious 60-day deadline for ending the war with Iran and reaching an accord on its nuclear program. That period ended last week, after weeks of stalled progress and flare-ups, with both sides declaring they had abandoned it.
