The indefatigable leadership dynamo, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of NAUTH, Prof Joseph Ugboaja spoke briefly to the Publisher of Vision Newspapers, Ezeakukwu Emmanuel Nsoedo.
The inauguration of the ultra-modern orthopedic clinic with the state-of-art equipment, and with over one hundred bed was such a big deal because of what it consumed in terms of resource allocation.
The erstwhile Chief Medical Director, Professor Ofiaeli Robinson told the guests “that orthopedic department is one of the most expensive department to build in a teaching hospital.”
“It is more costly when you appreciate what Prof Ugboaja did by building a dedicated radiology department attached exclusively to the orthopedic clinic.
“With the equipment Prof Ugboaja procured and installed, such as X Ray machines, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), etc, those do not only facilitate accurate diagnoses of the patients, but also allow the doctors to see the result of surgeries immediately.”
Because Vision Newspapers was on hand at the inception of the incumbent CMD’s tenure, we are among those who characterize the scope of development and transformation of this permanent site, we feel obligated to bring the audience to hear directly from you, albeit, a short audio clip.
