Abducted Anambra Commissioner, wife regain freedom

Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Aghamba and his wife have regained their freedom following their abduction by gunmen.

Daily Sun reported that Aghamba and his wife were kidnapped on Friday while his aide was murdered by the abductors.

Sharing an update on Sunday, the Anambra State government announced the release of the couple, with Governor Charles Soludo’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime disclosing that Aghamba and his spouse were set free on Saturday night.

Aburime shared that no ransom was paid, attributing the release to divine intervention.

“The commissioner and his wife have been released by the special grace of God. We were able to secure his release and no ransom was paid”, he said.

Aghamba, his wife, and aide were en route to the wedding ceremony of Adaora, the daughter of Governor Chukwuma Soludo scheduled for Saturday when they were kidnapped.
