Abducted Anambra lawmaker found dead

The abducted Anambra State House of Assembly member, Hon Justice Azuka has been found dead.

Sources claimed that a combined security team found the decomposing corpse of the legislator representing Onitsha North Constituency 1, at 2nd Niger Bridge.

The combined security team from Abuja is also said to have arrested the culprits that kidnapped and killed the lawmaker very late night on Wednesday.

The arrested kidnappers were said to have taken the security operatives to where they dumped the decomposing corpse.

Meanwhile, the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO) for Anambra State command, Tochukwu Ikenga (SP) has confirmed the development in a statement on Thursday.

He said, “In the early hours of today, 6/2/2025 at the second Niger bridge, the Joint Security team comprising of Police and AVG Operatives on a mission to rescue abducted Hon. Azuka, Honourable State House of Assembly member representing Onitsha North, regrettably found his lifeless body at the scene.

The PPRO promised to make more information available to the members of the public as soon as he gets more details.

“I will keep you updated, as the joint security team have taken over the scene and operation is ongoing for the possible arrest of the suspects involved,” he said.

Recall that Hon Azuka was kidnapped on 24th December, 2024, along Ugwunabakpa Road Inland Town, Onitsha.
