The abducted parish priest of St Charles Catholic Church, Zambina, in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Reverend Father Emmanuel Silas, has been freed by his captors barely 24 hours after the incident.
Terrorists, in the early hours of Monday, July 4, abducted Rev Fr Silas, but he was freed at about 9 pm the same day.
The Chancellor, Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Rev Fr Emmanuel Uchechukwu Okolo, confirmed the release of the abducted Priest in a statement made available to reporters in Kaduna.
“It is with great joy in our hearts that we announce the release of our Priest, Rev Fr Emmanuel Silas. He was released at about 9 pm, barely 24 hours after he was kidnapped on Monday,” the statement read.
