By Ifeoma Ejiofor

Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital NAUTH Nnewi Anambra State has again distanced herself from online platforms set up for the primary purpose of extorting the unsuspecting members of the public.

The disclaimer was contained in a press release signed by the Head, Corporate Affairs (PRO) NAUTH, Mrs Chinyere Onwuka made available to journalists.

Mrs Onwuka said that it has come to the notice of the Chief Medical Director of the Nmamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, NAUTH, Nnewi, that certain fraudulent individuals and criminals are still using certain Linkedln and Facebook accounts to defraud the unsuspecting public inspite of several disclaimers done on this matter by the hospital management.

“The hospital management wants to reiterate once again that those accounts being used by these fraudsters including the phone numbers are fake and do not belong to the Chief Medical Director.

“Members of the public are warned to desist from dealing with these criminal elements as neither the CMD nor NAUTH Management will be held responsible for any loss suffered by the public as a result of the criminal activities of these individuals.

We equally urge members of the public to please avail us of any information that will lead to the arrest of these individuals as this matter has been reported to the relevant security agencies who have been working hard to apprehend these miscreants.” Mrs Onwuka stressed.

The Head, Corporate Affairs (PRO) also advised the public to always contact NAUTH Management through the appropriate channels in all matters.
