The State Executive Council has not met for about three months, and this might be unconnected with the medical status of the state governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, who was away for medical vacation in Germany.
President Bola Tinubu last week invited members of the State Executive Council, the House of Assembly and the Deputy Governor to the State House in Abuja to mediate in the political logjam in the state.

President Tinubu’s intervention came after elder statesman, Pa Reuben Fasoranti wrote a letter to him.
The last time the meeting was held was on August 14, 2023.
The notice for the Executive Council meeting was confirmed in a memo from the Office of the Chief of Protocol, Mr Bola Alabi.

The meeting is expected to be in closed doors as the media have not been permitted to cover it.
The exco usually comprises the governor, his deputy, Secretary to the State Government, Chief of staff, commissioners and special advisers.
The Exco is the highest administrative decision-making authority in states and members are under obligation to congregate regularly with the view to advise and assist the governor in the performance of his or her official duties.
