As Ndi Anambra count down to 2023 governorship election in the State, more groups have continued to express support for zoning arrangements in achieving peace, equity, fairness and justice at the state.
This was the core message delivered by the Concerned Anambra Youth, during their maiden press conference themed ‘Lets go South’ in Awka, Anambra State capital.
Onyinye Agubaeze reports that Concerned Anambra Youths, an umbrella body that connects all youths politically across the three senatorial districts of the state aimed at holding the state stakeholders accountable to decisions taken for the best interests of the state citizenry.
Emphasizing her point with the fact that “ he that demands for equity must do so with clean hands, the convener Princess Bibiana Nwankwo recalled that in 2013, it was agreed that the North be allowed to produce the Governor in the interest of peace after which the south will have their turn for the interest of peace and brotherly love .
Princess Nwankwo urged all political parties to not only zone their governorship tickets to the south but also ensure they elect competent and qualified person that will continue steering the wheels of purposeful leadership.
In his reaction, the Chairman Concerned Anambra Youths, Barrister Chika Ekwenugo called on Lawmakers to provide necessary legal framework for zoning arrangement as it makes election easier and peaceful.
Present during the event were, Ada Nwanagum, Mrs Maryann Ekeh-Izuchukwu, the President of Ogidi student union Chisom Anyaorah amongst others.
